Action E2.1: Completed.

Action E2.2: The participation of networking groups in the final conference of the project is foreseen, probably given the persistence of the health emergency due to Covid -19 it will take place online. The editing and the graphic layout of the Volume project best practices technician (deliverable) is almost finished. In January the tender for the award of the printing of editorial products will start.

Action E2.3: The flags and the printing of the brochure have been made, the brochure has already been distributed and sold out. A reprint of the brochure is expected with the assignment of the final editorial products of the project.

Action E2.4: Final conference is scheduled for July 2021, for the methods of implementation we await the evolution of the health situation and government provisions.

Action E2.5: The drafting of the leaflet is in progress, which has been transformed into a technical manual of about 50 pp. All other activities are completed

The “LIFE projects for the Protection of Fish” workshop was organized in October 2019 and projects and actions for the conservation of ichthyofauna were presented.

A workshop “Life Projects for the Protection of the Fish Fauna” was organized which saw the sharing and exchange of results between other European projects, in particular Life: IdroLIFE; LIFE FOR LASCA; LIFE BARBIE; Life MIGRATED EBRE; Life CONFLUPO; Life NAT.Sal.Mo and Interreg Sharesalmo. 75 people attended the workshop.

The LIFE project foresees a network of contacts between the Ticino Park and the partners FLA and GRAIA with other entities that manage similar projects in other European countries, in order to encourage a mutual exchange of information on the conservation and management of target species and habitats.

As part of this network from 16 to 19 October 2017, employees of the Ticino Park, Michele Bove and Cristina Poma, participated in an exchange of knowledge and experiences with the managers of the LIVEDRAVA project, which deals with habitats and riparian birds on the Drava river.

From 12 to 15 June 2018 Dr. Fulvio Caronni, Head of the Vegetation and Woods Sector, went to Arnhem – NL for a visit to some managed natural reserves. The purpose of the visit was to learn, guided by the experts of the RSPB, management, restoration and maintenance techniques for wetlands and forest environments in favor of biodiversity, which will be used within the LIFE project (Actions C.1. And C.6. ).

In addition, the LIFE project was presented by Dr. Fulvio Caronni in Milan on the occasion of the conference “Role and Future of the new forests and green systems of the plains and valley floors: an open Italian-Dutch comparison” of 18/10/2018 and on the occasion of the IV Italian conference on river requalification held in Bologna from 22 to 26 October 2018.

The introductory seminar of the “Marcita per campari management course” was held on 17 January, with the presence of about 50 people including farmers, agronomists, technicians, public bodies and interested citizens. The course continued with the creation of three outings on the field (from January to June) to learn the management of the marcite and the manual skills of the shovel in Abbiategrasso and Vigevano, as well as the innovative techniques for collecting and storing grass fodder also for ensiling (in total about 90 appearances). A video of the course was made, disclosed and booked on several public occasions: Cuggiono – MI Being land 23 September 2018, Milan Green Week 27-30 September 2018, Cameri-NO Biodiversity on the table 13-30 October 2018, Inveruno-MI Feast of San Martino 9-12 November 2018.

The action started in October 2016 and involved training activities aimed at economic operators (farmers), including information material and presentation of the project. The network has been expanded with other EU LIFE and / or non-LIFE projects: the LIFE Ticino project was presented in England at a conference in Cambridge, an activity followed by the visit of Reserves to south-west England.
